We’ve already shared a wide range of holiday activities for experiencing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. But if you’re a Christmas light enthusiast, there is a lot more to talk about.

Wherever you find yourself in the greater DFW area this holiday season, there are options for seeing Texas lit up. Don’t forget that if you want to see Christmas lights from above, you can always book a helicopter tour!

Vitruvian Lights

Hosted by Vitruvian Park in Addison, this light display runs through January 1st. Parking is free, and special music events occur throughout the holiday season. These lights are visible with either a walk through or a drive through experience (though the park does warn that inclement weather can be a factor, so take that into account when making your viewing plans).

Highland Park

If you want to take your holiday light viewing to the next level, try admiring them from a horse drawn carriage. The horse-drawn carriage tours through the Highland Park neighborhood can be booked in a variety of sizes, seating anywhere from 4-10 passengers. The carriage takes you through the glittering homes of Highland Park for an hour.

Prairie Lights

This drive through display in Grand Prairie features 4 million lights along two miles of path. Prairie Lights also features concessions, pictures with Santa and carnival rides. Ticket options include a fast pass that lets you bypass some of the line. The drive through experience is open until December 30th.

Daystar

If you want a holiday decoration experience that incorporates a live nativity, one of your best options is provided by Daystar Television network. Their holiday event also features readings of the Christmas story, photos with Santa and a cafe. The lights experience is open from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on weeknights.

Deerfield Lights

The community of Deerfield, located by Northwest Plano, dresses itself up for Christmas every year– and invites you to come and enjoy it. You can drive through the neighborhoods or enjoy it by carriage ride. In a special interactive twist, visitors who explore the festive neighborhoods can vote on their favorite houses in multiple categories, from most traditional to children’s favorite to funniest.

Frisco Square

Christmas in the Square in Frisco lets you wander through a historic downtown completely decked out in Christmas lights. The light experience is up through December 31st, and visitors can also enjoy a skating rink. While enjoying over 175,000 lights, visitors can tune their radios into 107.3 FM for a festive soundtrack.

At Longhorn, we love being a part of the DFW community and all that it has to offer year round. Find out more ways that we are a part of supporting both work and play in the Metroplex!
